01.  Membership fee reminder
Members of the CID are reminded again to send membership fee for 2009. The fee can be sent by cheque, bank transfer, or preferably via  www.paypal.com
Only recipients of letter of confirmation can use the title of "Member of the International Dance Council CID-UNESCO" after their name.
 

02.  Dance Day 29 April
It is time to start preparations to celebrate Dance Day 29 April. Guidelines and the official message will follow in February. C! ID Sections and members can contact their country's National Commission for UNESCO - find its address at  www.unesco.org
We want to involve municipal and government authorities so that celebrations take place everywhere. Every dance school and every dance company in the country should stage an event on Dance Day, attracting media attention. Let us make Dance Day as widely known as Mother's Day.


03.  Training in Cultural Management
Opening for a trainee in Cultural Management, all expenses paid (travel plus residence) in Spain. Applications are expected urgently.


04.  CID Congress in Malaga, Spain
The first CID Congress in Spain is announced for 15-19 July 2009. The city is Malaga, not Granada as previously announced. Most probably it will be combined with the CID General Assembly. Members can ask for a personal invitation to attend, to be used for application for funding s! ubmitted to public or private sponsors.


05.  Audition for ballet dancers
Ballet company in St. Petersburg is looking for young professional male and female ballet dancers with strong classical and good contemporary ballet technique. Auditions will take place in Athens, Montreal, Seoul, Minneapolis, Berkley, Boston, Chicago, Orange County, New York, Warsaw, Ludwigsburg, Muenchen, Winterthur.


06.  Salsa festival in Italy
Performances, workshops, choreography competition, evenings. 6-8 March 2009.


07. Workshops on ecstatic dance
a) "Developing your practice & facilitating a class" in Bali, Indonesia, 3-9/04/2009.
b) "Moving meditation practice: Ecstatic dance, Native American shamanism & ritual & essential touch", Big Sur, California USA, 31/05 - 05/062009. c) "The realm of the sensuous", Ceyvennes, Franc! e, 5-12/08/2009.


08.  Showcases in Rome

Two performances to take place in Rome 2 and 7 May 2009. Applications to take part by groups and solos are welcome.


09.  Festivals in Tunisia
Several festivals in Tunisia at various dates are announced by an agency. Open to dance groups, brass bands, orchestras, street performers, majorettes. Applications are welcome.


10.  Dance Parade in New York
Artists who wish to participate are invited to register with Dance Parade. One dancer or group from each dance genre will be chosen. Members of the CID are welcome to organize a similar dance parade in their city.


11.  Festival in Poland
In Wielkopolska 24-31 August 2009. Organizer offers transport within Poland, accommodation, meals, workshops, excursion, cultural activities, assistance by Polish dance tea! chers, guides and translators.


12. Festival in Nepal

At various locations, from 28 May to 06 June 2010.
